National unemployment figures rose for the first time in 2 years, however – Cumbria stands strong as unemployment figures fall again.
In June last year 5,710 claimed un-employment related benefits, in May this had dropped significantly to 3,720 and last month Cumbria continued to fall to 3,441 – whilst the national average rose.
Here is how the figures stand:
Carlisle – claimants fell by 81 to 619 last month
Allerdale – claimants fell by 36 to 865
Copeland – claimants fell by 65 to 646
Eden – claimants fell by 5 to 136
Barrow – claimants fell by 76 to 927
South Lakeland – claimants fell by 16 to 248
Excellent news for Cumbria, let’s keep those figures falling!
