IT Support Analyst

Six Degrees are delighted to be assisting a large group of business in thier search for an IT Support Analyst to join their growing IT Team.

·Receiving, logging and managing calls from users regarding IT issues/queries via Cireson / Service Manager, telephone and email, communicating progress in a timely manner to business partners and customers/ (2nd line helpdesk support regarding IT issues logged / escalated from 1st line support)

·Management and resolution of incidents, problems and service requests reported to the IT Service Desk in line with defined SLA's

·Incident Management: detection and recording, initial support, classification, investigation and diagnosis, resolution, recovery and closure

·To provide daily IT Network Support across the Group as appropriate and to ensure the continual smooth operation of each Group location

·To provide BMS Application Support and report issues to Cultura when needed

·To provide IT Helpdesk Analysts with 1st line Support when necessary

The Role

To provide 2nd line IT support across the Group
To carry out network installations for new branches or locations across the Group
To understand the workings of modern Network Systems and Windows Domain Management
To provide support to Carr’s Engineering businesses including installation and upgrades of engineering specific software and licence servers
To provide mentoring and guidance to Helpdesk Analysts to ensure effective performance standards are designed, met and maintained
To create / provide management reporting from Cireson on helpdesk performance
Manage warranty claims and repairs for PCs, Laptops and Tablets
To assist in the maintenance and creation of Application Portfolio’s
To understand Business Applications used across the Group and to ensure service and support are effective and efficiently delivered
Demonstrable experience of being able to prioritise and execute tasks
Strong relationship building, influencing and negotiating skills
Proven ability of working under own initiative and driving change
Working with other teams associated with delivering a service with experience in challenging organisational ‘norms’ and influencing change.
Ability to collaborate with staff at all levels and to work either as part of a team or independently as required by the task at hand
Where necessary, to represent Group IT in the US or other foreign location.
Technical and Professional Expertise

Excellent knowledge of:

Windows Server, Active Directory,DNS, DHCP, LAN & WAN technology

Microsoft Windows Desktop operating systems

Microsoft Office

Email quarantine / spam application

Bromium security

Cireson/ System Centre Service Manager

System Centre Configuration Manager

Installation and monitoring of:

Cisco Meraki network switches, Wireless access points

Cisco routers

Forcepoint firewalls

Engineering software (Autodesk, MathCAD, Ansys, Intergraph, JobCost) and relevant network licencing

Working knowledge of:

Microsoft Exchange

Microsoft Hyper-V

Citrix & Remote Desktop Services

CCTV systems

Weighbridge interfaces

System Centre Applications (DPM / SCOM)

T-SQL Querying

Configuration and Installation of:

CAT5e / CAT6 structured cabling

Desktop PC’s, laptops, tablets


Mobile devices

Millmaster System Administration

Creation of new users

Configuration of user parameters

Participate in the on call rota for out of hours support

Strive to achieve industry standard qualifications in Microsoft Technologies, ITIL and major Business Applications

To continually drive to improve own technical capabilities with regards to supporting the Group and delivery of the required IT Services
