CRM & Data Marketing Consultant (6 Month Fixed Term)

Job Purpose

The primary purpose of the role is to coordinate our customer contact strategy, with a key focus being on CRM and data marketing. You will be leading the planning and decision-making around the data selections for our client's postal marketing direct marketing campaigns, and subsequently leading the analysis of these campaigns. You will also manage our media planning and analysis.


Key Accountabilities

Drives Business Success

CRM, Data Marketing and Analysis

• Leading the planning and decision-making around the data selections for our postal marketing direct marketing campaigns
• Managing the propensity model used for our client's postal direct marketing campaigns
• Managing the segmentation of customer data
• Managing the structure and execution of marketing tests
• Supporting the Marketing Assistant – Customer Communications on a day-to-day basis
• Reporting on the performance of marketing campaigns and tests, drawing robust conclusions and steering the next best action
• Leading the planning and execution of strategies to increase response rates, repurchase rates and average transaction values
• Leading the planning and execution of free gift offers and other marketing-led promotions
• Leading the planning and execution of same channel and cross-channel bounceback campaigns
• Leading the planning and execution of ad hoc marketing campaigns to support planned postal direct marketing and email marketing campaigns
• Ensuring compliance with GDPR and other data protection and usage laws/guidelines


Third-party Media Planning and Analysis

• Managing the media planning for our media insert and advertising campaigns, working in close liaison with our media agency
• Reporting on the performance of our media campaigns and tests, drawing robust conclusions and steering the next best action
• Managing third party paid-for inserts into parcels and free insert swaps

General

• Assisting the Head of Marketing with additional ad hoc tasks as required, in support of department or business-wide objectives
• Carrying out any other reasonable duties that meet the day-to-day needs of our client’s customers and/or colleagues

Operational Excellence

• Being proficient in the management of customer data for marketing campaigns
• Taking full ownership for understanding the forward marketing plan, key ‘push stories’, new products being launched, promotions and in-store marketing plans
• Taking full ownership for understanding what has proved effective in the past or is currently proving effective, and reflecting this quality insight in future planning

Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required

Essential – the ‘must haves’

• Significant CRM and data marketing experience with demonstrable expertise and success
• A true passion for working with data
• Highly numerate
• Proficient at marketing analysis, and the interpretation and summarising of results
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent relationship-building skills – friendly, welcoming and approachable
• A ‘finisher’ – someone who is well-organised, able to deliver multiple projects concurrently, work to tight deadlines and effectively prioritise work
• A ‘can-do’ attitude – positive, determined and adaptable
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously as well as in a team
• Computer literate, proficient in using Microsoft Excel
• Degree educated, preferably in a business or mathematical/statistical-related qualification
• High attention to detail

Desirable – the ‘nice to haves’

• Media planning experience – primarily media inserts and print advertising
• Retail marketing experience including in-store data capture and bounceback campaigns
• Knowledge and experience of predictive analytics, AI, marketing automation
• Hands-on experience of working with the IBM Watson (ex-Silverpop) email service provider platform
• Experience of using consumer insight/’big data’ to personalise customer communications
• Experience of working for an omnichannel retailer
• Understanding of client’s marketplace and main competitors

Our clients are open to this being an employed role for teh 6 month period or to be invoiced if you operate a limited company
