Software Tester

Overview:

Reporting to the Test Manager, a software tester holds responsibility for aspects of application testing, defect tracking and resolution for new and existing developments as well as assisting with the production of high‐level application documentation.


Responsibilities include:
• Producing, maintaining and improving testing plans and test result reporting.
• Tracking and reporting on fixes.
• Ensuring solutions are delivered that meet or exceed customer and stakeholder expectations.
• Responsible for Accessibility, Usability and Inclusion testing the solutions delivered by the development team.
• Identification and resolution of defects.
• Working alongside DevOps and Development to create, embed and evolve automated testing processes within the software development lifecycle.
• Communicating testing methodologies and strategy to a range of team members.

Key Deliverables:
• Maintain a working knowledge of the organisation’s ongoing projects and developments.
• Where necessary, work with internal/external auditors, affiliates or third-party partners to effectively outline and communicate the organisation’s testing standards, policies and procedures.
• Develop and continually refine automated testing processes.

Prerequisites:
• Experience of programming – in one or more programming language, not necessarily in a web technology.
• Employment that included an element of Software Testing or qualifications in Software Testing.

• Annual bonus (based on company performance – recently this has been 5% of salary)

• Pension contribution by the client – 5% plus will match up to another 5% that the employee contributes e.g. if employee contributes 5%, company will put in 10%

• 23.5 days holiday rising by a day, every 2 years (or pro-rata)
